Landowners and operators outside Door County may rent the drill.Seed mixes must have a conservation benefit as determined by the Door County SWCD. For no-till, use a direct drill or autocast system, depending on the crop. ![]() ![]() The Door County SWCD must approve the seed mix and seeding plan prior to entering a rental agreement. For min-till, use a seed drill adapted for min-till or a direct drill which will not go deeper than 15cm.The seed drill is equipped with a large seed box. Seed drill 10 is designed specifically to operate in 'no till' farming operations wherein seed is planted directly into soil that has not been previously tilled after a prior. The drill is available for use at 15 per acre plus 50/day to help offset insurance and maintenance costs. Any landowner or operator may rent the drill from the Door County SWCD. A 'no till' seed drill of a preferred form of my invention is illustrated generally in the accompanying drawings and is designated therein by reference character 10.The LCC gives authority to the Door County Soil & Water Conservation Department to engage in rental agreements in accordance with this policy and oversee the general use and maintenance of the drill. To conserve soil, reduce erosion, provide wildlife habitat, increase biodiversity, and support pollinator populations in Door County through the use of a no-till drill to plant beneficial species.
